Big plans ahead!
Panther Students~
On Monday, we will have our team meeting and go over what's ahead for the week and review some of the key points of the survey. One of the big suggestions was more field trips and "fun" stuff.
Well, they are coming! We have 2 field trips booked before Christmas break and plans for two breakfasts in the morning (more details to come soon). And, as you know, we instituted activity period every other Thursday morning for a dodgeball competition.
Comments?? Ideas for other things??

Thats awesome we didnt have a lot of field trips last year well i think its great the way it is i have no suggestions except for we should use more dodgeballs during activity period!!!
i think that we should have one bid field trip to like sixflags or some other place. Because we the 8th greaders will not be able to go to moddle school next year. Still i cant wait until the team meating then we can speak our minds about stuff about school

You'll have more of a chance to speak your mind about team stuff during advisory on Tuesday than team meeting on Monday.
The school used to do a big Six Flags trip for 8th graders as part of the physics unit you will complete in science. But as of last year it was no longer allowed. My only suggestion might be to use what you learned in Teen Issues class last year with Mrs. B. (think "action plan") The Six Flags field trip needs approval from people "bigger" than the team teachers, however.
Yeah, we need a big field trip. In band &+ chorus, we have huge 4 day long ones, like the one I went on last year to NYC, Philidelphia, and NJ. I wish we could have something like that on our team. My sister goes to a small private school, and they even have a big one to NYC in 8th grade.
But six flags sounds fine to me :]]
BTW, where are the field trips to?

Where is the breakfast field trip, and do we have to eat there? I'm not to crazy about breakfast foods.
You'll find out soon enough~ at tomorrow's team meeting. You don't have to complain about the breakfast- if you don't like breakfast, you don't have to be a part of it.
I think that Matt is right, but not a field trip to six flags but to New York or Boston!

yeah crazy person and matt are right having one big field trip would be awesome but i think we should go somewhere educational i mean come on "six flags"? we could go to the boston mueseum or like some where we can LEARN something!!!

I soo say six flags is better! Anyways it could be for science roller coasters have to do with physics. Sooo technically we would learn something!
i think that the imaxx thing sounds kinda funn but we should be able to choose who we sit next to cuz its more fun if your next to your friends ( we wont talk)and haleys idea sounds funn too!!

When we go on the Imax field trip, you will be able to sit next to whoever you want.
I like the idea of a dinner at the end of the year~ I will bring that up as an idea for the end of the year.

What is this fun stuff about anyway? You people are supposed to be in school to learn. Get with the program folks. It looks like Mr. Howman is leading you poor innocent children astray with all this blogging. Do you ever see me having fun? NO, of course not. Mr. Serious they call me!
So, to get serious, I hope all of you do some serious brainstorming and come up with many ideas. We should be able to work something out. See you tomorrow.

i am so happy we get to do more fun stuff this year...the dondgeball games are fun but i think we should do mor than that... ithink we should play like idk um...basket ball or kick ball. and we should use more dodgeballs wen we play!!!

I think that we should be able to go to six flags or sumthin because that would be fun and everyone has to like rollor coasters there the bomb!! lol anyways we didnt have that many feild trips last year i think we only had one and i think we should go other places like... the movies or like i said six flags or a ice skating rink or something but it has to be fun fun fun i cant wait till imax cause my moms shapparoning ( how ever yo spell that ) and its gonna be funn soo see yaa

Amber, I like the ideas you have but field trips do have to educational. I'm not sure how to fit in ice skating...and the Six Flags trip was, unfortunately, done away with a couple years ago because it wasn't educational enough.
well i dont see how the IMAX feild trip was very educational- it was but i think that the students were more focusing on the things popping out at you; and everythng else distracting us. I also think that some feild trips you can make educational. Like in 5th grade we went to the mansions and we had to bring a note book and write dwons ertaion things we saw. like different shapes and things like that. I think that the team teachers should thinks bot what they can have the students do or have the students think of a way it can be educational....

i think that in the moring like when we play dogde ball we should like go out side- make the period longer so its kinda like advisory and just like go out side - if its nice out because its kinda boring for people -like me- that dont like to play dodge ball but also dont like just sitting and watching...

I think it is good that we actually have feild trips this year unlike last year, when we didn't have any.

i cant wait until the 8th grade outing! only because all 8th grade is going to be there not just one team so you can see your other friends and there is going to be all ot there to do. not like wathcing a movie or a play...=]
