Let's get moving

I know that we have all been excited and preoccupied with the Patriots undefeated start and the Red Sox advancing to the American League Championship Series (not mention the Yankees being eliminated) but we need more participation in the upcoming team events.

The deadline for handing in tickets for the team breakfast at Applebee’s is fast approaching and if we do not have enough people coming then we may have to cancel it. Sell some or all eight of your tickets, return the unsold tickets and money to your homeroom teacher ASAP. Tickets are only $5 for a pancake breakfast!

IMAX field trip permission slip and money deadline is Wednesday 10/24. This is a firm deadline- if we don’t have a high enough percentage of students by then and we cannot cover the expenses of the trip that too will have to be cancelled. We currently only have 25 students who have handed it in. We also need 3 more parent chaperones to accompany us on the trip.

You wanted more “stuff” Panther team- now let’s get moving!

Mr. howman is right. all because of testing dosent mean that we can forgot things that are importance like the field trip, the pancake breakfast and the red sox (even though i like the yankee). we are slacking in school and school is importance because of the education and if we dont get an education then we wount get a good job. and our 8th grade teachers are reminding us about whas going on outside of school and i think that is very kind of them.

see ya at school,
wexler
p.s the yankees lost means that they cant win every year but they are the best :)

Temptation's always coming around, and skipping homework and forgetting about important events, can be easily forgotten with the Red Sox and Indians going at it. But to paraphrase Wexler, without an education, you will find it almost impossible to get a good job (if good equates to the size of the paycheck). So, stick to the program and reap the benefits.

caouse i tried to sell tickets but nobody bought them.

Well, at least you tried to get people to go to the Pancake Breakfast. I find it funny that a conversation or encouragement to get involved and participate is perceived as "being yelled at". At no time has anyone ever been yelled at or reprimanded for not participating! If people choose not to participate that is their own decision and the consquences are found from within.

Very insightful comments from both Matt and "anonymous" about getting the most out of school. Thanks for the words recognizing the reality of being focused!

Having a good education will be needed if you want a good paying job. If you don't have a good education you will end up working the cash register at a restaurant in the middle of nowhere.

Words of wisdom from the Albornator~ thanks Bret. And working a cash register is not necessarily a bad job if the person enjoys what they are doing and they feel they have worked hard and are doing the best job possible. Not everyone is cut out to be a professional athlete, doctor, or engineer- we need people to fill millions of types of jobs.
